Well organised and that we were in safe hands. Jez is an advanced motorcyclist and leads by example when it comes to safe riding. He tailors the route sensibly to suit everyone and he is always on hand when needed.
After decades as a teacher Jez has developed the patience of a saint and is a genuinely nice guy with an amiable warm hearted nature.
I have always found them to be well planned and organised with a great selection of carefully planned scenic routes and fabulous refreshment stops. The accommodation provided has been ideal offering off road parking for my motorcycle and clean ensuite rooms. Evening meals have been to a high standard and were generally taken as group allowing everyone to get together after a days riding to exchange experiences and anecdotes. Jez and his team will work tirelessly to make sure that everything should go well, of course, things can go wrong, but that’s where their planning and good communication comes into play.
Our Pyrenees tour was my first experience of riding abroad and my first experience of riding with a group of motorcyclists who I didn’t know. I was quite nervous about how I would cope! I was amazed at the high standard and how safe the riders were. We were encouraged to ride at our own pace with frequent stops to allow for regrouping and no-one rode alone unless they wanted to. We were also free to ride our own route or to follow a leader which allowed for a lot of flexibility.
The trip highlights for me, in no particular order (!) the really well planned routes each day, the great accommodation, the stop over at Port del la Selva , the evening meals with the group and meetings and spending time with a lovely group of people. It was one of my best holiday/ motorcycling experiences to date!
Outstanding 13‑day Pyrenees Tour
Just back from an unforgettable 13‑day motorcycle tour of the Pyrenees, superbly organised by Peter Genet. We sailed from Plymouth to Santander, rode across the Pyrenees as far as Andorra, then headed north through France and returned via Caen to Portsmouth — 1,721 miles of stunning scenery and brilliantly planned routes.
We stayed in nine excellent hotels, all well‑chosen and perfectly placed for each day’s ride. Both overnight ferry crossings were handled smoothly, and the whole trip ran like clockwork.
The riding was exceptional: mountain passes up to 6,955 ft, sweeping roads, and the perfect balance of pace and enjoyment. At 72, I found the whole experience confidence‑building and exhilarating — and my wife (whose age remains a closely guarded secret) enjoyed it so much she now wants to tackle the Scottish North Coast 500.
Peter’s professionalism, calm leadership, and meticulous organisation made the entire journey a joy. If you’re considering a motorcycle tour and want expert planning, great routes, and a supportive atmosphere, I can wholeheartedly recommend Peter Genet.
