We spend four delightful days meandering through the scenic landscapes of France, Germany, and Austria, culminating in our arrival at a charming hotel for three nights in Compitello di Fassa nestled in the breathtaking Dolomites. From this splendid base, we embark on thrilling explorations of the region’s treasures for riders, with the possibility of venturing to the iconic Stelvio Pass for an unforgettable experience!

Steering clear of motorways and tolls wherever possible, this adventure is tailor-made for riders looking to revel in the joy of touring alongside a merry band of kindred spirits.

This is a ride to the mountains, passing through France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Italy, on both the outwards and homewards journey key highlights include:

In the Dolomites, our three-night retreat will be at a splendid hotel with its very own bar, perfect for toasting the day’s adventures, and we’re just a hop away from other lively spots to explore.

What to Expect

Some of the days are long both in terms of
mileage and riding time so you will need to be sure
of your riding stamina. The roads in the mountains
are twisty but overall mileage is less. This is a riding
holiday, so time spent in stopovers is quite minimal.
We probably won’t get chance to visit cathedrals
or do walking tours.

Our tour guides lead from the rear, there to help with any problems, but allowing you to ride at your own pace. You’re sure to form friendships and riding buddies within the group.

We provide you with all you need for your days riding – GPX Files, Maps, Recommended coffee stops, places of interest

Variety of food and drink – all part of the travel experience, good food and good beer and wine.

We’ll find a restaurant to enjoy each day where we can enjoy reminiscing about the day and some playful banter.

It’s your holiday, so please ride at a pace that suits you. If you want to go off on your own, then please do so. Or, if you want to stay in a group, then again, do so – it’s always your choice.

ITinerary

Day 1

230 MILES
We ride straight off the Tunnel to Reims for our first overnight stop. We avoid tolls and get into riding on the right-hand side of the road.

Day 2

229 MILES
Long day in terms of miles, but we will stop plenty. Departing Reims, we ride, avoiding motorways and tolls, to our overnight destination in Baden-Baden, Germany.

Day 3

160 MILES
Through the Black Forest, we stay in Kempten, Germany.

Day 4

184 MILES
A long day this. We cross through into Austria and the breath-taking Timmelsjoch pass into Italy, to our location for the next 3 nights at Compitello di Fassa.

Day 5

REST DAY? OR STELVIO PASS?
Day off from riding? Take the gondola up to the top of the mountain and explore the ski resorts on foot and enjoy a beer and pizza in one of the many restaurants, or ‘refuges’. Or is Stelvio beckoning at 3 hours away?

Day 6

 90 MILES
We do a loop of the ‘Marmolada’ extending it over to Cortina d’Amprezzo. Although short in terms of miles, there are plenty of giggles to be had riding this.

Day 7

126 MILES
Departing Campitello di Fassa, we head back along the Selva pass, through Austria via Innsbruck to the German ski town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany.

Day 8

107 MILES
We follow the Romantic Road to the medieval city of Augsburg. En route we stop to take in the view of Neuschwanstein Castle.

Day 9

 209 MILES
Criss-crossing our route down, we head east to the pretty city of Colmar.

Day 10

178 MILES
Onto our last night on the trip to the Belgium town of Saint Hubert.

Day 11

198 MILES
Depart Saint Hubert, Belgium, and taking a leisurely ride, head to the Eurotunnel, or ferry, for a late afternoon crossing.
